Stories

Stories are written to entertain people or to give a message.

  • Skim through the title page, the pictures and think about what your book is about.
  • Read each page. Check the tricky words out. Find out what they mean.
  • Re-read the story. Think about the different parts of the story.
  • Summarise your story in a comic or in three parts to retell it. Use a sentence for each part with a picture. Include the place, the time, the people or animals, the problem and what happened.

  2. Can describe the middle of the story (SERIES OF EVENTS)
    • Can say what happened (EVENTS- things that happened)
    • We put the events in the right order (CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER- first, second, third)
  3. Can describe the ending of the story (CONCLUSION)
